Jody Strickland is highly experienced in the forestry industry, currently serving as the Chief Business Officer. With over 30 years of experience, she has excelled in business development and client services. Strickland’s expertise encompasses extensive transaction services with the Fountains Land Real Estate Business Unit and managing forest operations in Fountains Forestry U.K., F&W Uruguay, and F&W Brazil. She has held leadership positions at renowned companies such as Weyerhaeuser and Proctor & Gamble.
Jody is a licensed broker in multiple states and actively participates in various associations, including the Society of American Foresters, Forest Landowners Association, Forest Resource Association, Georgia Forestry Association, National Association of Realtors, and Realtors Land Institute. Jody also serves on the board of directors for the Georgia F.F.A. Foundation, U.G.A. Warnell School of Forest Resources Center for Forest Business Advisory Council, and the Advancing Georgia’s Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry Board of Directors.
Jody holds a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia and earned her M.S. in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Florida.
Michael began his forestry career in 1987 with New England Forestry Foundation as a forest consultant. In 1989 he joined Fountains America overseeing the company’s northern New England forestry operations as a consulting forester. Prior to the Company joining F&W Forestry Services in 2016, he was President of Fountains America, a leading forestry, land brokerage and GIS firm. During his 31-year tenure with Fountains America he helped the company establish the Fountains Land brokerage division in the early 1990’s. Today his professional focus is serving client marketing of timberland and multiple use properties within northern New England for F&W Forestry Services’ Fountains Land brokerage division. Michael brings to the Fountains Land marketing team property valuation expertise, strategic disposition strategies and creative marketing concepts. He has been responsible for the successful sale of 495,000 acres with property value of +/-$400 million on some 375 transactions. He received his BS in Resource Management at SUNY ESF at Syracuse, New York. He is a licensed broker in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York and Pennsylvania, and licensed forester in Vermont. In his free time, Michael spends time outdoors skiing and hiking and has a bonsai farm from trees collected in the wild.
T. R. Clark serves as Regional Manager of the LaFayette, Alabama office. T.R. is a registered forester in Georgia and Alabama. He is also certified as an American Tree Farm System Qualified Inspector and an Alabama Certified Prescribed Burn Manager. Additionally, he holds real estate licenses as an Alabama Qualifying Broker and a Georgia Real Estate Salesperson. Before joining F&W in 2003, T.R. earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from North Carolina State University in 2000. T.R. is highly active in several forestry organizations. He is currently serving as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Association of Consulting Foresters Alabama Chapter, National Executive Committee member of the Association of Consulting Foresters and a member of the Georgia Forestry Association. He has served as a Board Member of the Alabama Forestry Association.
Dennis joined F&W Forestry Services in 1976 and specialized in timber management and rural real estate timber in the Southeastern United States. He has a BS degree in Forest Management from the University of Florida and is the Qualifying Broker for Alabama. He also has a Real Estate Salesperson license in Georgia and is a Registered Forester in Alabama and Georgia. Dennis currently resides in Auburn, Alabama, where his wife teaches at Auburn University. He has two children and one grandchild. He is active in Auburn University events and enjoys Auburn sports as well as hunting and fishing.
George Peake joined F&W Forestry Services in 2018 as an associate broker. He has a BS degree in Animal Science from Auburn University. He has been active in acquisition, sales and management of forest and agricultural lands for 45 years as an investor with Georgia Timberlands, Inc, Tolleson Land Investment Properties, and Windy Hill Farms. Through these companies, Peake coordinated the acquisition and sale of over $100 million in rural assets throughout the southeastern United States. He also used his training and expertise in land management to advise clients as to Best Management Practices for their timber and agricultural properties. In 2009, Peake obtained his Georgia Real Estate License, and worked as a sales person with Fickling and Co, Inc as their Land and Timber Specialist. He obtained his broker’s license in 2013, starting his own real estate company - Green Gold Realty, LLC - and is now a licensed broker in several southeastern states. He is a life-time member of the GA Association of Realtors' Million Dollar Club. In addition to his passion for assisting clients with all their rural real estate concerns, Peake also displays his interest in the broader community through his involvement with local and international service organizations, such as Living Water International, Perry Volunteer Organization, and the Rotary Club of Perry, GA, where he currently serves as President. He is the proud father of 6 children and 10 grandchildren.
Rob has been a real estate licensee since 1992 and is a Georgia Associate Broker and South Carolina Broker. He is also a Georgia Certified Real Property Appraiser and Registered Forester. After graduating Auburn University, where he received a BS degree in Forest Management, Rob joined F&W Forestry Services in 1982. Rob devotes time to Kiwanis, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Association of Consulting Foresters currently serving as this group’s Southern Region Director.
Jesse comes to Fountains Land with an extensive background in forestry, GIS mapping, and appraisal services. Currently, Jesse works for the James W. Sewall Company and Legacy Appraisal Services valuing large tracts of timberland in North, South and Central America. In addition, he worked on many conservation easement projects as well as single lots and subdivision properties. He is a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser in five states. Before his appraisal work, Jesse worked as a Procurement Forester and GIS Technician in New England. Jesse has a BS in Forest Ecosystem Science from the University of Maine and currently lives in Corinth.
Glen Worrell is the Regional Manager of the Charlottesville, Virginia, office. He is a Certified Tree Farm Inspector. Glen is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters and a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester. He is also a Certified Prescribed Burn Manager in South Carolina and Virginia. Glen is active with the Virginia Forestry Association. He holds licenses as a Forester in Maryland, a Registered Forester in North Carolina and West Virginia, and a Virginia Real Estate Broker. Glen earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a Master of Science in Forest Resource Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Doug Hall serves as a Regional Manager. Doug joined F&W in 1984. He is a Georgia Registered Forester, Certified Prescribed Burner, and Real Estate Salesperson. Doug actively participates in the forestry community as a member of the Georgia Forestry Association. Doug earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Forest Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Chris Bartley serves as Regional Manager of the Huntsville, Texas office. Chris is an Accredited Forester and Pro Logger Certified with the Texas Forestry Association and member of the Association of Consulting Foresters. Additionally, he is a licensed Texas Real Estate Salesperson, American Tree Farm System Qualified Inspector, Texas Certified Prescribed Burn Manager, and National Deer Association Certified Land Inspector. Before joining F&W in 2011, Chris worked as a Forestry Technician for the Texas Forestry Service. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Stuart has been working as a forester in Northern New England for over 22 years. With extensive experience in wood procurement and on the ground forest management, Stuart brings a solid understanding of timber value and market trends to Fountains Land. As the founder of Stillwater Forestry LLC, he has worked the last 12 years managing client’s lands throughout NH & VT. Stuart has also had significant success , buying and selling land on his own. This experience has given him a unique perspective about the land owning process from the sides of both the buyer and the seller. An avid deer hunter, Stuart is a fully licensed forester in NH, VT & ME and is a licensed real estate sales agent in NH.
Sam joined Fountains Land in 2022 as a New York State licensed salesperson. He owns Blue Line Barn, a construction company specializing in timber frame barns and custom homes. He is also the owner of Bixby’s Best Pure Maple Syrup which he started by hanging buckets on any maple tree he could find and boiling on an open pan in his great grandfather’s sugarhouse. Bixby’s Best now focuses on modern high-efficiency sap yield and secondary understory crop propagation and management. Born and raised in the Adirondacks, Sam’s family has been in the region since 1790. A graduate of Colorado College, Sam has worked in the biodynamic farming industry and was involved in the early northern elk herd impact studies related to the reintroduction of the grey wolf to the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park. Outside work, Sam spends as much time as possible on skis, chasing brook trout and exploring the woods with his wife and three mutts.
Tom Gilman serves as the Regional Manager of the Tupper Lake, New York and Montpelier, Vermont offices. Tom is a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester and a licensed Vermont Forester. He is actively involved in the forestry community as a member of the Society of American Foresters and the NYSAF Policy Committee.
He holds a New York State Real Estate Salesperson license. He also serves on the SUNY ESF Ranger School-Technical Advisory Board. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Resource Management and Environmental and Forest Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
Chad Hancock serves as the Regional Manager of the Albany, Georgia office. Chad joined F&W as a Field Forester in 1995. With expertise as a Georgia Registered Forester and Certified General Real Property Appraiser, he brings extensive knowledge to his role. Chad is also a licensed Georgia Real Estate Salesperson, Certified Prescribed Burner, and American Tree Farm System Qualified Inspector. He is an active member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, Society of American Foresters, Georgia Forestry Association, and Forest Landowners Association. Chad is also a member of the Albany Rotary Club. He earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Forest Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Valdosta State University.
Nathan McClure is the Regional Manager of the Fountain Inn, South Carolina office. He is a Registered Forester in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, as well as a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester.
Nathan is a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Salesperson, Georgia Prescribed Burner, and holds a Remote Pilot Certification. Nathan is active with the Association of Consulting Foresters, Forestry Association of South Carolina, and Rotary Club. Nathan earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Wade E. McDonald is the Regional Manager of the Statesboro, Georgia office. He joined F&W in 1983, progressing from Assistant Forester to Branch Manager. Wade is a Registered Forester in Georgia and South Carolina, holding various certifications such as Georgia Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator, Georgia Prescribed Burn Certificate, and South Carolina Prescribed Fire Manager. He is also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and a registered appraiser in Georgia. Wade is active with the Georgia Forestry Association, South Carolina Forestry Association, and Society of American Foresters. Wade earned an Associate of Science in Forestry Technology from Savannah Technical Institute.
Bob McLaughlin has been a professional forester for 38 years and a New York State Licensed Real Estate Agent for 18 years. During this time, he has been able to help countless landowners, sellers, and buyers achieve their forestry and real estate goals. Bob is known for a no-nonsense style and hands-on approach to both specialties. Because of his varied backgrounds and travels throughout most of Northern New York State, he has obtained extensive knowledge and experience in all types of real estate and markets, giving him a unique ability to professionally service clients. Bob takes great pride in researching properties thoroughly, his attention to detail throughout the entire sale transaction process, and is known to go above and beyond the standard when helping landowners, buyers, and sellers. Bob has been a St. Lawrence County, New York resident since 1989 and resides at his horse farm.
Thom has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, from advertising and consulting, to retail, hospitality and e-commerce. As the founder and managing director of Hummingbird Creative, Thom developed brand strategies and integrated marketing campaigns for small business, nonprofit and higher education clients, including serving as agency of record for the Forest Stewardship Council U.S. and Northland Forest Products for over 15 years. An avid outdoorsman, Thom is a licensed Vermont Real Estate Salesperson and brings a marketer’s strategic instinct and creative eye to the Fountains Land real estate team.
Rick Sluss is the Regional Manager of the Clinton, Tennessee office. Rick is a Georgia Registered Forester and a Tennessee Real Estate Salesperson. He actively engages with the Association of Consulting Foresters of America. Rick earned a Master of Science in Industrial Forestry Operations from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
