Introduction

Quitman Woods is full of opportunities.  Situated in south Georgia, this property has potential for timber production, a possible home site, and a multitude of outdoor activities.  All sixty-plus acres were replanted as a Loblolly pine plantation two years ago.  If you are looking for great land for sale in southwest Georgia, you need to look at Quitman Woods.

Location

Quitman Woods is situated in Quitman County in southwest Georgia.  The property is a short 12-mile drive from Cuthbert, Georgia.   Eufaula, Alabama is about 12 minutes to the west.  Both of these towns offer some lodging and dining options.

The property is located in the Upper Coastal Plains where the terrain is beginning to transition up to the Piedmont.  This is a good timber-producing area and the tract is surrounded by large timberland properties.

Tallahassee, FL is 130 miles to the south-southeast, while Atlanta, GA is 150 miles to the northeast.  Either of these destination can be reached in about two-and-a-quarter hours, traffic permitting.

Access

The property is accessible from County Road 84, which makes up a little over two hundred yards of the northeastern boundary.

Site Description

The dominant topography in this area of Georgia is flat, with some gently rolling terrain.

The property boundaries currently are easily identified, as the timber was harvested and replanted two years ago.  Some portions of the boundary are painted, but may need to be more clearly marked in the future.

The Chattahoochee River and Lake Walter F George is just ten miles away, offering many boating and fishing opportunities.

Timber

The property was harvested and re-planted to Loblolly pine about 2 years ago, ensuring the new owner a quality start on timber management options.
