Introduction

Jay Peak Forest is a recreational property and building site with good access from a gravel driveway off a maintained Class III Road. There are views of the non-resort side of Jay Peak from the open field, and a small brook runs the length of the parcel. This private location is close to Montgomery Center and Jay Peak Resort. There are numerous rivers and brooks nearby for fishing and swimming, as well as being centrally located in the unspoiled Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Location

This property is accessed from a built driveway on Hidden Heights Road, just off Creager Road in Montgomery, Vermont. The center of Montgomery, with a mix of shops and restaurants, is less than 5 miles away and Jay Peak Resort is 14 miles to the east. The property is a 4-hour drive from Boston, 6 hours from New York City, 4 hours from Hartford, Connecticut, and only 1.5 hours from Montreal. Enjoy all of the scenic beauty and outdoor activities the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has to offer from this excellent location.

Access

From Route 118, one half mile west of Montgomery, Vermont, turn onto West Hill Road. Follow West Hill Road until the intersection of Creager Road. Follow Creager Road to where it intersects with Hidden Heights Road. The driveway is on the left after turning onto Hidden Heights Road. The driveway heads downhill from the main road and leads to the building site in the open field.

Site Description

This property has a lot to like, from the dramatic mountain views to the gravel driveway already in place leading to the open 5-acre field. The field, with views of Jay Peak and other mountains to the southeast, makes it a great building site. A small brook that runs along the northern boundary appears to have water flowing year-round. The property is mostly forested, with trails left over from past logging, making walking through the woods easy. An old stone wall is on the field's edge, and a power line is on the southern boundary.

The best use of this property would be for a home or camp, with recreational opportunities nearby. The popular town of Montgomery is about 4 miles away for dining and shopping, and the Trout River is located two miles away, with swimming, paddling, and fishing available. Enjoy all the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has to offer from this easy-to-access property.
